Historical Monuments of India
A photographic story on Decades old Manauli Fort, originally built by the Nawab Kapoor Singh in 1793, located near Mohali, Punjab. In 2001, the Punjab Government has declared the place as protected:

The century old monument is still crying on its situation. It is dying every single minute. In 2001, the Punjab Government has declared the place as protected place and recently, ASI (Archeological Survey of India) visited the place to see the possibilities. Though, the "efforts" of saving the history has started but they seem literally of no use as the present situation do not need reports but need a strict and immediate action. The "quila" (fort) was won by Nawab Kapoor Singh in 1793 from Mughals. It is made of small bricks commonly known as Sirhind Bricks. As per the native people, the fort had a huge gate and a small Gurudwara was there inside the fort. Nearly 400 acres of land was controlled by the people who lived in the fort but now everything has changed into miserable picture. There is no proper place to stand, no engraved stones, nothing. If taken proper care of even now, it can be preserved as a good tourist place and also a very good spot for photographers.
